– a well-known prehistoric monument in Österlen!

The 3500-year-old Bronze age cairn hides a stone cist covered with stunning petroglyphs. The pictures reveal journeys, both in real life and in the spiritual world, rituals and ceremonies. They also show us musical instruments, clothing and objects.

The cairn with its unique coffin is not the first tomb here. To build the cairn, they had to demolish one already 2000 years old burial site. The oldest grave finding, from a pit underneath the cairn, is 6000 years! The youngest is from the Viking age, around 800 AD

Welcome to visit all of the prehistoric Österlen in one place!
